if the imperial city is the capitual of the Empire why is it so bleeding small compared to VIEC in morrowind it seemed like a copy of tribunal of the captial city of morrowind being small but still they could of added more to the city.

They could have added much more to it. The Palace is seriously lacking, the number of quests in the city is small compared to Mournhold, the sewers aren't as big or as interesting as Mournhold's. It's kind of ironic to see so many cities much larger than THE capital city of the Empire. Vivec is bigger, Mournhold seems bigger due to the more interesting NPCs and larger dungeons to explore beneath it. Even Silgrad's towns are bigger and they're not professional game developers who do this for a living. They're modders. Bethesda got lazy, yes. ;D

Its a valid point. What I think is that they should add suburbs. There's a Mod that increases the size of Weye significantly, and they should do this all around the capital city. I mean from History of the Empire and other lore books that describe the Imperial City, one would think it would be a metropolis.

Not to mention there is only 7-11 shops in the city all to one spot while in morrowind there loads more in viec and in diffrent caontons Also the legions training and most of its army is suposed to be based at the prison but theres not much in there only 10 beds and a small armoury and about 2-3prisoners where in the books it said that there are loads of crimanals but there are more of an empires army in morrowind and that the the legion is for any race to join not just imperials. the only new thing they added in to the main city is the arena guild and thats genaraly a side guild. also where are the imperial forts what are popualted of the legion not the dead.
Also why is there 2-4 side quests and no figter guild there and that the docks are just short and there empire would have anctul office for trade not just werehouses

you know, I'm starting to think Bethesda didn't bother making the Imperial City larger is because they knew some modder would eventually do the work for them

Can you think of any really good mod what expands the imperial city not just making it under ground.

well I don't think they'll be TOO lazy. I mean, they're going to sell it on the game consoles, right?

I hope they DON'T rely on modders to make the game much better. Most unofficial mods are not very professional and are of much lower quality than something Bethesda could produce.
Then again, I could just mod TESV to suit my tastes better.

You are one of the best Modders out there but then again when there only about 15 out of a thousend modders can really improve game play well and add thing more better so if they rely on modders to much then the games gonna be shit and then withen 3 years you will only have 15 worth it mods out there what attuacly probley add stuff.

Yeah, I don't want to rant, being new to the forums here and because as stated it has been 3 years since the release, though the time has flown by, but yes it does seem they relaxed with Oblivion to satisfy the consol gamers. As we know from modding, a little tweak can take a lot of time and effort, but it would be nice to be paid for it. And we like Morrowind because when we first played we all went "Awwww!" When we first entered Vivec we got an overwhelming since of wonder, and had no problem with generic npc response when we had so much area to explore that was just as detailed as any small town. It is evident that the staff developing the game enjoyed what they were doing. I suppose we should give homage to them, never forgetting what they offered us. And yes, it seems that any depth of play will have to continue to come from the modding community. Well take care all, time for bed. Later.

I said it before, this time I'll say it less nicer: Oblivion has been dumbed-down for dumb brats. I expected much more from them. I made Modular Oblivion Enhanced in an attempt to fix some of the things I didn't like, but even a much bigger overhaul + OBSE will never bring back everything that was awesome from Morrowind. And then again, even Morrowind could have used some improvement. Because after level 20-25 in Vvardenfell everything seems almost 1-shot-1-kill even thought it's very far from the level cap (which is techinically... 255 as you can keep degrading your skills by going to jail). It gets too easy and there aren't too many bosses. Dagoth Ur is extremely easy to beat because you don't even have to fight him directly, just avoid his attacks while you strike the Heart.
