I think it was good but it could of been better like more armor and side quests like the Morrowind expansion packs. But on the whole i think they should of changed the realm and story to something else like Hircines realm(I know something like this has been done in the morrowind expansion but still) I mean think of what the land map would be like as i have got an idea for this there is city in the middle and the land is cut in to four regions. Desert,Tropical rain forest, snow and swamp. The big city in the middle could be divided in to 5 parts 4 of the parts could be based on the lands outside it. In each region there is a village which is walled around outside with about 6 or 7 houses in the interioer. new enemys would be good as well like werewolfs like the ones in Morrowind(no offense to any one what makes werewolf mods for oblivion but they are a bit rubbish) and though that there could be a hunters guild what you can join where every one in the guild hunt werewolfs. and perhaps in the main city the gaurds are always werewolf like creatures but are unaffected by the day and night. Other enemys could be reptiles where in water they 90%invisable and need to be lored out of the water to become visable. a beast where it looks harmless and runs away but when you come up to it,it will turn vissous and puts up a hell of a fight. Desert worms they move about around the desert but they attack by hinding in the ground and fastly moveing to there target and lunges straight at them.

It was alright. Don't get me wrong, I certainly liked it, but I was expecting more from it both quality and quantity.
For one thing, there should have been more "madness" in it. I was expecting some really insane laybirinths and puzzles that actually made you THINK. Like a room with about 100 doors and if you picked the "wrong one", you would end up falling from a ceiling or something. Or if you entered another "wrong door", you'd end up in the exact same room, just upside down. I was expecting even deadlier traps, but they're not really better than vanilla Oblivion's.
The NPCs were definitely insane, but lacked a decent amount of dialog to make the experience credible. Often times, they'd just say one insane line and then act like common citizens. Plus they didn't actually do many insane things. Sure there was that guy who was afraid of the walls falling on him, but most of them just walked around town and slept at night. Boring...
With the awesome capabilities of the Oblivion engine it could have been the best RPG game ever. In terms of gameplay, almost nothing has improved since vanilla Oblivion. It's still leveled, you still get a crappy fast travel system. I mean couldn't they have made something like in WoW. Now there's a decent fast travel system. You can even see the sights, it doesn't just teleport you instantly. And it costs something too. There are too many essential NPCs you can't kill. Now Haskill and Sheogorath are immortal. Haskill apparently is some kind of spirit that doesn't take any damage. BUT the rest of NPCs should be "killable". Prices and weights are also unrealistic.
On top of that, becoming the new ruler of Shivering Isles grants you almost no respect or authority. Daedra still treat you like shit, you can't walk in certain areas of the Palace, it's ridiculous.

true also there wansnt that much NPCs in the game not to mention villages and in the a few main quests and side quests in the cruicble distirct you have to kill half the population wjich seemed a bit stupid and they could of carried on the main quest like perhaps name a new duke or duchchess of both mania and dementia even make a side quest where you can go to that place where you make people go crasy and every week you can do that or make another gate keeper what follows you around. Also the armor ammount is lacking quite a bit because there is only 2 armors playeable in the game and the others eg the guards armor and knights of order isnt playable what made me angry. What they really were trying to do was genrally add the good bits from oblivion and the good bits from morrowind which dident go so well.
Is it just me or has Bethesda gone lasy
