I think too many people would remember the Nerevarine. It wouldn't be a bad idea to make a questline where you had to follow the footsteps of the Nerevarine to discover his whereabouts, only to find that it was you all along, but it's impossible that none of the old NPCs, especially the spiritual Nords of Solstheim, will recognize you along the way. And that would just spoil the storyline the moment you set foot in Morrowind. "HEY IT'S YOU! OMG OMG OMG! YOU'RE BACK NEREVAR!"
I think it would be best to just leave him a separate entity. He could even be the Nerevarine's companion in the final quests, plus we're going to avoid the cliche "OMG UR TEH SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD" cliche. In other RPGs you're never regarded as that, sure your actions go down in history sometimes, but you're not "THE ULTIMATE UBER SAVIOUR"-type.

Hi all !!! i'm new to this site (my english is bad)but i'm still an addict of elder scrolls.i Simply turned Morrowind into a religion and my parents got crazy when i started writing in daedric...(that's true...).Anyway when i found out about SoVvM i got a bit crazy (my friends thought i had mental issues ) i started screming and laughing for hours (seriously) and said things like: Omg ! Praise the Nerevarine ! and stuff like that..........anyway i read your posts and i just LOOOOOOVVVVEEEEE the idea of the dream for ther nerevarine character. i also think that a topic of oblivion mentioned the nerevarine going to an expedition in akavir(correct me if i'm wrong please... ).does that mean that there will be a quest or something that would involve akavir??? (Sorry about my english again!!!)

I have a couple suggestions. One major one, then some things I think would improve a players experience.
-Major: Use everything, or more specifically, use everywhere! use not only Vvarvendfell, solstheim, and Mournhold, but use Tamriel as well! Include all four places in the main quest. This would validate the lands your making them by keeping them up to date with the games core areas. Maybe you need something from an alyeid ruin, or something from the elder scrolls library. Maybe you even need to do something for sheogorath in his realm before he'll help you! just use EVERYWHERE!
-MAJOR: Okay, this isn't major but it was a major annoyance: Weapon Enchant Recharge: Make it like it was in Morrowind, a 24-hr recharge, Vanilla oblivion was rediculousely inconvienient, and varla stone of unlimited power is unbalanced.
-Less than major: Oblivion Gates: My advice would be to use these sparingly. The player just finished the main quest, or if s/he didn't, s/he's probably dealing with an oblivion gate every hundred feet which creates a lot of stress. Either way s/he's probably sick of them! You have a lot of information at your disposal to not use instanced oblivion. I would actually suggest using gates as an explaination for the quick appearance of deadric buildings and armies on/in Dagoth Ur. I think especially if the goal is to revive the feeling of the morrowind you loved then you should keep instanced spaced local to caves, and buildings, and ruins. Not some imaginary danger land.(oblivion)
-sort if interesting I think: Dagoth Ur: make the inside of the mountain a city perhaps. with the new Daedra city there will be more to destroy, or not.(If you want to be stealthy) This allows for an uninstanced Oblivion plane. Make the suggestion that the buildings are binded outside of oblivion through the energy of a sigil/great sigil stone. grabbing this stone however is rather impossible, you have to kill, or be killed, or lead someone to die, or save someone or whatever's more of a twist to the story to remove this manifestation of destruction.
-minor: I'm thinking the mages guild is against necromancy in Tamriel, well maybe the sect in Morrowind disagreed with tihis. Not to necessarily make it a priority, but definately an accepted form of magic (black sould gems from great altars etc... characters fled tamriel and central cyrodil to morrowind to avoid persecution from mages guild?) Just a self-interesting Idea I had.
-minor: Dont let the main character be someone who "helped the guard" then you will feel rather deflated. I would suggest having an NPC be a hero... but actually able to handle most situations, but to make the players presence a necessity, make the hero get trapped or something similar, maybe he needs a second person to open something... dunno... but "Helped the guard" is just the polar extreme of being the hero. Expecially when you did all the work.
minor, just for fun: Some NPC's have moved into some dwemer ruins and made them their home. even repaired some major piece of machinery which is really just an easter egg for the player. (similar to orrery but more worthwhile.) or make it part of the main quest! or, even make it part of a transport system, If you've played WoW, you almost certainly have seen the deeprun tram(between SW and IF)
finally: Make the main quest playable by all character types!!! in oblivion you could only play a combat character, this is rather ignorant of one of the games best attributes: stealth (IE not forced combat if at all possible, or refrain from it wherever possible, and when necessary allow for an alternative to direct combat so the player can decide to just cut 'em up, or pull a handle to/or drop an anvil or entomb the enemy)
Now for my rant... ****I dont expect anyone to read this part**** Frankly, deadra are getting boring, they were all over Morrowind AND oblivion. Morrowind is in serious toruble but its also the land where everyone escaping the law goes. have lots of crooks, burglers, and shady characters. Frustrate the player, make him WANT to kill everyone! AND REWARD HIM FOR IT! at the same time, give him a city he'll love. Tailor each city to a specific feeling like "vegas"(greed, lust, gambling( IE: Suran, my personal favorite)) or "New York"(pushy, business or bust, full schedule, cash-cab(vivec? i mean it does have the large waterways...)) "Amsterdam"(dont remember where the drug city was.. remember some moon-dust in either Hla Oad or Balmora but I'm Wrong) etc... maybe a happier city, definitely a small town. Or a seattle(rainy) city... anyways...

I think we should have there be like a mysterious ship wreck and these people near start hearing odd things emitting from it or something so they see you and ask you for help 'cause you look so awsome
